Every day is the same, from sunrise to sunset she repeats the same patterns until time starts to lose meaning, lost in the bland rhythms of captive life. She kills, feeds, kills more, feeds and then blacks out in some place she swears has never seen before. But, today was a little bit different; she was having fun messing with one of her victims and saw a shadow in the alley watching her. She could’ve sworn she knew who it was, it looked too familiar.
But to avoid any trouble, she decided that she wasn’t hungry anymore. She sighed and walked to the grill. “Another,” she ordered the bartender, studying him. He was new in town—he looked kind of… delicious, in every term of the word, too. She shot him a messy smile and then groaned and buried her face in her hands. He asked her if something was wrong, she just shook her head and whined again, ordering him to fill her glass. He told her that he didn’t really think that it was such a good idea, since she was alone and since she will probably end up driving. Effy was fed up; she stared at his green eyes. “You will do exactly as I say, and you won’t act like a bloody smartass, got it?” She wasn’t sure if it was the compulsion that worked or if she just looked too scary to be messed with, but he nodded his head anyway and did as he was told. She smirked. “Good boy.”
